We were away for most of August 2012, so here is a quick list of links having to do with news about non-aviation laser incidents.
US: A fishing boat off Point Loma, San Diego, was hit by a laser pointer. Police arrested a man whom they later released; he still could face misdemeanor charges. (The story has links to other recent San Diego-area laser incidents.) From 10 News, August 27.
US: 18-year-old Erik Barry of Sayville, Long Island, New York, was arrested August 21 2012 for pointing a laser at a police boat in the Great South Bay. The officer was “treated for laser light exposure” at Stony Brook University Medical Center. Barry was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. From WABC, August 21.
